uTorrent

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) programs must be the largest group of available software worldwide, and when talking about P2P subgroups, the largest is the one that encompasses the applications based on BitTorrent, that is a variety of P2P designed to increase the download speed of one file, instead of downloading lots of files at the same time. Another major difference is that to download a file, we must first find a file with the .torrent extension that contains all the information regarding the seeked file. We can find .torrent files in websites from all around the world.

  µTorrent, better known for it's pronounciation uTorrent, is a client based on the BitTorrent protocol. It is very lightweight, only 220 Kb, and hardly need any CPU power considering it great running speed. When we first use it, it will give us the possibility of using it as the default torren client, so any .torrent file we work with will automatically be included in µTorrent's download list.

  This program doesn't include it's own search engine, but it does include a text box that will automatically link us with one of the best torrent search engines on the web. µTorrent includes RSS auto-downloading, that will allow us to add the RSS of a certain website, and the program will let us know of all the updates that appear, letting us have our downloads updated without having to visit every website each day, that will make downloading files a lot quicker, and will require less effort from us.
